Helping Couples and Families
Grow Stronger, Together

Every relationship and every family moves through seasons. Some are easy. Others test everything you thought you knew about each other. At Soto Therapy, we walk alongside couples and families through all of it, from strengthening a marriage that's already good, to rebuilding trust after conflict, to navigating the ordinary and extraordinary challenges of raising a family together. Our goal is always the same: help families build the kind of connection that holds up under real pressure and lasts.

Angela Soto brings over 25 years of clinical experience to this work, including 30 years with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services before moving into full-time private practice. That depth of experience shapes how we support every couple and family who comes through our door.

Couples Therapy

Using an approach grounded in the Gottman Method, we help couples move past communication breakdowns, recurring conflict, trust issues, and emotional disconnection. Couples therapy with us isn't about assigning blame, it's about understanding the patterns that keep you stuck and building new ones that actually work. We work with couples at every stage, from those in crisis to those who simply want to invest in a relationship they already value.

Faith-Informed Marriage Enrichment

For couples who welcome it, we offer marriage enrichment rooted in Catholic values, blending clinical tools with shared faith to strengthen your bond. Our Thriving Together seminar is a hands-on example of this work, bringing couples together for an evening of connection, dinner, and practical guidance for a stronger marriage. This is never a requirement of couples therapy, it's an additional offering for couples who want their faith woven into the process.

Family Therapy

Family sessions bring everyone into the room, alongside individual check-ins as needed, to work through painful patterns and rebuild the way a family communicates. We guide conversations toward compromise, teamwork, and compassion, helping families move from cycles of conflict toward genuine connection. This work is especially valuable for families navigating a major transition, whether that's a new diagnosis, a move, a loss, or simply years of built-up tension that finally need to be addressed directly.

Reunification Therapy

This is one of the most specialized services we offer, and one Angela is uniquely positioned to provide. As a designated expert witness in Montgomery County Courts for child and adolescent mental health, abuse, neglect, and domestic violence, Angela has extensive experience providing both court-ordered and voluntary reunification therapy.

Reunification therapy is trauma-informed, structured work designed to rebuild a healthy relationship between a parent and child after estrangement, high conflict separation, or a period of limited contact. We work directly and collaboratively with attorneys, guardians ad litem, parenting coordinators, and judges throughout the process, and we understand the legal reporting requirements that come with court-involved cases. Families going through this work can trust that we understand both the clinical and legal sides of what's required.

Co-Parenting Coaching

For parents who are separated or divorced, co-parenting coaching helps you build a functional, lower-conflict way of raising your children together, even when the romantic relationship has ended. This work focuses on communication strategies, consistency between households, and keeping the child's wellbeing at the center of every decision.

Parent Coaching

Sometimes the most effective work isn't a full family session, it's giving a parent or parents the specific tools and confidence to handle what's directly in front of them, whether that's a defiant toddler, a withdrawn teenager, or a co-parenting conflict that keeps repeating.
