Our goal isn't just to help you cope, it's to help you become the fullest, most whole version of who you're meant to be.

Everyone's story is different, and so is everyone's path forward. Maybe you're managing everyday stress that's finally caught up with you. Maybe you're working through anxiety or depression that's been building for a while. Maybe you're carrying grief or trauma you've never said out loud to another person. Or maybe you're living with an ongoing mental health condition that needs real, consistent care, not just a crisis response.
At Soto Therapy, we work with individuals through all of it. Our therapists each brings over 25 years of clinical experience, with training grounded in both private practice and Montgomery County's Department of Health and Human Services. Our goal isn't just to help you cope, it's to help you become the fullest, most whole version of who you're meant to be.
How We Work
We don't believe in one size fits all therapy. Every individual plan is built around your specific needs, history, and goals, drawing from several evidence based approaches depending on what will actually help you.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
A structured, evidence based approach specifically for processing trauma and its lasting effects, helping you understand and reframe the thoughts and reactions trauma has left behind.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
A practical approach focused on accepting difficult thoughts and feelings while still committing to actions that align with your values, rather than getting stuck fighting your own mind.
Motivational Interviewing
A collaborative approach for anyone feeling stuck or ambivalent about change, helping you find and strengthen your own motivation rather than being told what to do.
Systems Psychotherapy
An approach that looks at the bigger picture, understanding how your relationships, environment, and history shape what you're experiencing now.
Play Therapy
A developmentally appropriate approach used primarily with younger children, using play as a natural language for processing emotions, experiences, and challenges that are often too difficult to put into words.
What We Treat
Anxiety and Panic
Helping you understand what's happening in your body and mind, and building real tools to manage anxiety so it stops running the show.
Depression and Low Motivation
Working through the heaviness, the disconnection, and the exhaustion that depression brings, at a pace that respects where you actually are.
Stress
Whether it's work, family, finances, or simply the accumulated weight of everyday life, we help you find a sustainable way to carry it, or set some of it down.
Trauma
A steady, trauma informed space to process what happened, understand its impact, and move through it without being re-traumatized by the process itself.
Grief and Loss
Support for the full range of grief, whether it's the loss of a person, a relationship, an identity, or a life you expected to have.
Ongoing Mental Illness
For individuals managing a diagnosed mental health condition, we provide consistent, compassionate, clinically sound care built for the long term, coordinated with other providers when needed.
Self-Esteem and Self-Image
Working through the inner critic and the self-doubt that keeps so many people from feeling like they're enough.
Substance Use and Addiction
Support for individuals working through substance use concerns, including newer areas like problematic gaming and technology use.
Behavioral and Adjustment Concerns
Support through major life transitions, adjustment struggles, and the behavioral patterns that so often develop in response to stress or change.
Who This Is For
The person who looks like they have it all together but is barely holding on underneath. The person who's finally ready to put down something they've carried for a long time. The adult managing a diagnosed condition who wants a steady, experienced clinician in their corner. Anyone who wants a space to be honest about what they're carrying, whatever that is.
Bilingual Care
All individual therapy is available in both English and Spanish, so your story can be told in the language that feels most true to you, without anything getting lost in translation.
A Note on Faith
Healing is more than clinical. For clients who welcome it, we're glad to integrate prayer, scripture, or spiritual reflection into your care alongside evidence based treatment. You never have to share our faith to work with us, and it is never a condition of care. Whatever gives you strength, we want to help you hold onto it.
Getting Started
You're stronger than you think, and you don't have to do this alone. Reaching out is usually the hardest part. Let's take the next step together.
